Are you passionate about remote IOM, but prefer to work in a collegial environment designed by physicians and run exclusively for physicians? Do you feel that venture capitalists or investors do not appreciate your role as an MD? Would you like to work for a neurology-based practice that specializes in IOM, rather than for a large company? Do you want to work remotely, but still have the opportunity to interact with physician peers on a regular basis? Would you enjoy actually knowing/meeting your co-workers?
We have an immediate opening for a board certified neurologist who is passionate about IOM. This is a great opportunity for someone seeking the opportunity to join an industry leader, providing remote oversight. All monitoring can be done from a home office. Our client will assist with obtaining any required state licenses and hospital privileges.
Location: Anywhere, USA
Role: Remote Monitoring of adult and pediatric patients
Required Experience: At least 1 year of remote IOM oversight required; we will consider those who have less experience if they have completed a fellowship in clinical neurophysiology and/or hold a sub-certification in IOM. Board certification in neurology is required.
Team: Join a group of highly experienced and well trained clinical neurophysiologists, whose reputation is second to none. Our client has experienced virtually zero turn-over the past decade. Those who join the team…stay!
Educational Opportunities: An internal group was formed to foster continuing education. Webinars on a variety of clinical topics are offered on a monthly basis, with curriculum specifically geared to interpreting physicians. Additionally, each team member receives a yearly stipend to attend conferences/lectures of their choosing (ASNM, ACNS, AAN, etc). Additionally, a $5k stipend and eight CME days are provided to attend external conferences.
Communication: Although team members live all over the country, communication is frequent and on-going. Webinars, team conference calls, and get togethers (including holiday parties) are a common occurrence. You will never be isolated nor alone. This functions like any other office-based, medical practice. The only difference is that your colleagues work remotely.
Estimated Compensation: Negotiable based upon experience + benefits; Experienced candidates have a base salary of $305k, but typically earn between $330k and $420k. There is potential for those seeking to work on additional cases to earn more. Fellows can expect to start in the $250k range but should earn substantially more by year three.
Compensation Structure: This is a full-time, salaried position. We cannot accommodate contract work, nor those looking to split time with other clinical duties. All benefits, insurance, and licensure fees will be included as part of the overall compensation package. In addition to a base salary, physicians will have the opportunity to earn an “overage” bonus that can put significant additional income in your pocket per year. Additional extras may be earned during weekday call and weekend call.
Workload: 15 cases per day (on avg); Weekend call rotation is required every 6 weeks. 1 day of call is required each week, and this day can be stationary.
Case Median: The average case length is 1.5 hours. While 15 cases per day may seem daunting for some, you will not be working 18-hour days! The average physician in the practice monitors 45-50 hours/week.
Coverage Help: All interpreting team members are board certified neurologists (not AuD’s, DABNM’s, PhD’s, CNIM’s, PM&R specialists, anesthesiologists, ex-surgeons, or anything else), so if a case runs long, you can comfortably and easily swap out with a colleague. The culture is one of shared volume. You will never be stuck covering that late afternoon, 5-hour add-on case (or complex craniotomy) until 9pm by yourself.
Insurance: Not only will the employer cover malpractice, but also a variety of other “often forgotten/ignored” policies such as errors & omissions, Hipaa, cyber, and tail coverage. Life and disability are covered too!
Benefits: A rich benefit program includes a robust healthcare insurance coverage plan, 401k, and 6 weeks of PTO. Furthermore, all expenses associated with state licensure, hospital privileging, and home office infrastructure are covered.
